I’ve now received the feedback from the tutor on the prototype and the work done so far. To briefly summarise, the project was becoming too focused and did not have enough variety, also the photographs and the text could be better matched.

So its been suggested that I look at Russian Constructionism, photo montage, subversive political art to generate more a original and meaningful prototype. With this in mind I decided to draw up a detailed plan, with checkpoints along the way, to help me to improve on the project. I’ve organised it with the weeks ending on a Monday as the deadline is on Tuesday 3rd May, and so means I have got 16 weeks left.

The new directions that have been suggested are actually a good idea. Personally I like collages as they have an inherent energy that is created by the juxtaposition of the different medias used. One that springs to mind immediately is Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing? by Richard Hamilton. The way it has been constructed by using photography and drawing and painting keeps the image fresh, vibrant and energetic.

Anyway, below is the plan that I have devised, and hope to stick to! I wold also like to mention that the reason why I'm leaving the essay till w/e 28th March is because the dissertation deadline is on the 17th March.
