I've now sent out 2 emails, one to Beachborough Park and another contacting the Brockman family in Australia.

Dear Alan.
I am contacting you in the hope you can help as I have an enquiry about the history of Beechborough Park and the surrounding land.
But first of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Dave Macey and I am currently a student at Canterbury Christchurch University studying for a degree in Photography. Recently I have started to photograph the area around Beechwood Park, as I live in Folkestone its relatively close, and I have become increasingly interested in a small wood just west of Beechborough Park called Little Stone Wood.
Consequently I am now trying to gather as much information about Little Stone Wood as possible. It is whilst conducting my research I came across your family connection to the area, as they used to own Beechborough Park and some of the surrounding land.
Currently I am trying to find out who actually owns Little Stone Wood. I know that some of the surrounding land has been sold to the military, I think your website said it was 1970 when it was sold to the army and I am curious to find out if Little Stone Wood was included. Also, I was hoping that it would be possible to shed some light on the name, Little Stone Wood, but any information about the wood will be extremely useful.
As I mentioned earlier, I have been photographing the wood mainly over the summer, and I have placed some of the photographs on my website. I don’t know if you would find them of interest but they can be found at http://www.davemacey.co.uk/#!littlestone-forest/cl7w
Anyway, I hope you can help and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours Faithfully
Dave Macey

Dear Beachborough Park.
I am writing to you in the hope you can help.
I am a local photography student based in Folkestone and studying at Canterbury Christchurch University for a degree in photography. Recently though I have been photographing the surrounding area of Beachborough park and I am hopeful that you could be able to provide some more information.
The area that I’ve become increasingly interested in is Little Stone Wood, which is just to west of Beachborough park and Summerhouse hill.
The main question I have is about the ownership of the wood. I gather that the surrounding land was sold to the army in 1970 and it is now used as a training ground, and I am curious if Little Stone Wood was included. I am also curious as to how the wood got the name Little Stone and if this wood is classed as an ancient woodland, which then gives it a level of protection.
As I mentioned above, I have been photographing the wood over the summer and I have placed some of the photographs on my website. These can be found at http://www.davemacey.co.uk/#!littlestone-forest/cl7w
So, I hope you can shed some light on these questions and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully.
Dave Macey
Hopefully I will get a response from them and some further information about LSW.
But another question which does spring to mind is, why has LSW been in existence for so long if it is an anciemt woodland? It's surrounded by fields and it looks like it was once connected to Bluebell wood just to the west of LSW and the area in between has been used as farm land. So why not this bit of land? It's a small area, which makes me think that there has to be a reason for it existing.
